Dr. Charles Conway at Washington University is study studying the use of a genetic tool to improve outcomes for individuals who have never taken an antidepressant. The tool classifies the likelihood to respond to antidepressants. Initial criteria includes:
- Age 18 to 65
- Currently experience depression
- Have never taken medication for depression
- No history of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder
- No history of gastric bypass surgery
